Fair Work Commission Announces 2026 Annual Wage Review Decision
The Fair Work Commission has announced its annual wage review decision introducing adjustments to both the National Minimum Wage and Modern Award Wage Rates.
According to the announcement made by the Commission on Tuesday 2 June 2026, these changes will apply for pay periods beginning on or after the 1st of July 2026.
Changes to Modern Award Rates
Modern Award Wage rates will increase by 4.75% from the 1st of July 2026 subject to structural adjustments made to the very lowest-paid classification in modern awards. As a result, the lowest Modern Award wage rate that is applicable for ongoing employment will increase to $1004.90 per week or $26.44 per hour.
And for workers employed at an entry-level classification (for a period of no more than 6 months) the minimum rate will increase to $978.10 per week or $25.74 per hour.
Changes to the National Minimum Wage
The National Minimum Wage will increase to $1004.90 per week or $26.44 per hour for pay periods beginning on or after the 1st of July 2026.
Any updates to Superannuation?
There will not be any further changes to the Superannuation Guarantee which has been increasing over the past few years as it has now reached its final legislated target of 12%.
