Privacy Awareness Week (PAW) is upon us again! This year’s event will run from Monday the 4th of May through to Sunday the 10th of May.

Though we find ourselves amid uncertain times, it is all the more necessary to keep privacy in the forefront of our minds. With companies shifting their operations online and into working from home arrangements, concerns over data privacy, file management, and personal information are understandably exacerbated. PAW serves as a fantastic reminder to reboot your privacy.

Some suggestions are to:

  • Check and update your privacy controls

  • Consider the alternative when giving or asking for personal information

  • Delete any data from old devices and securely destroy or de-identify personal information if it’s no longer needed for a legal purpose.

Organisations seeking a more thorough check can undergo an iPrivacy assessment to see where your privacy risk areas are.

Certex has signed up for another year as a proud PAW supporter. Privacy awareness remains a top priority for us and we have been championing the importance of privacy awareness, controls, and data breach response plans for many years.

Certex has also been proudly delivering privacy support for many years. The culmination of which is the well-known iPrivacy Assessment – a business risk review completed by privacy professionals who focus on your organisation’s specific situation. The effects of a data breach can be devastating and many clients have benefitted from a risk-based approach when improving their systems.

For companies seeking further assistance in monitoring and assessing their privacy controls, our iPrivacy Assessment is a helpful way forward.
