Celebrating 10 Years of JAS-ANZ Accreditation

“It extends beyond our certification services, in my view. It means that as a business, our values, our principles, and the way we operate reflect our strong management controls and quality principles, not only that we provide good certification services.”

Dianne Gibert, Certex M.D.

Happy 10 years of JAS-ANZ accreditation!

Certex has been a JAS-ANZ Accredited Certification Body since 23 May 2012, and we are so proud to be celebrating this milestone.

What is JAS-ANZ?

JAS-ANZ provides third-party accreditation which is globally acknowledged to be the highest and most credible form of accreditation a certification or inspection body can obtain.

“Accreditation is a symbol of assurance—a valuable asset in itself. The JAS-ANZ symbol is a mark of quality and reliability. It flags that a certifier or inspector can be counted on to impartially determine if organisations, products, and people conform to specified requirements. This gives certifiers, inspectors, and their client organisations a competitive edge.” (https://www.jas-anz.org/

JAS-ANZ accreditation a “mark of integrity” for Certex

JAS-ANZ is recognised as having one of the highest standards for its accreditation bodies in the world. Only a mere 135 operators in Australia are JAS-ANZ accredited, and all but 25 of these are large multinational corporations. Certex is proud to be one of the few Australia-owned and operated bodies.

Dianne (M.D.): “For us to display the JAS-ANZ symbol means that we are one of the better players. It demonstrates that not everybody can reach the level that we’re at.”

The flow-on effect for our clients

Alicja (G.M.): “JAS-ANZ accreditation for Certex is a very rigorous process. It took a lot of work internally to achieve it, and JAS-ANZ holds us and anyone who achieves it to a very high standard...JAS-ANZ accreditation is a mark of assurance because it assures our clients and anyone who deals with us that we are credible – that we put a lot of effort into our ethics and the integrity of our operations, and thus the certification that we grant onto our clients – it's a flow-on effect.”

Certex takes great pride in our ability to maintain this accreditation through regular JAS-ANZ audits. We firmly believe that this flows on to the pride that we think our clients should take in their own certification.

What the future holds for Certex

Certex aims to continue to work with small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs) and help them grow. Through appropriate auditing, we aspire to support and guide businesses on their journey to quality.

Dianne (M.D.): “Usually, you can’t create a management system and within a year, have it operating perfectly – that doesn’t happen. There has got to be time to mature and become a richer in the way it operates. Our style of auditing and our product, I believe, is to take SMEs on that path.

“Indeed, we have many examples where businesses have started with less than five people on the bottom floor of a pretty dumpy-looking building, and now, they’ve got the top floor, 40 people in Australia, and offices overseas. That’s just one example, but there are many others. We want to continue working with businesses to help them achieve this.”

JAS-ANZ's role in Certex’s continued growth and success

JAS-ANZ accreditation endows Certex with the authority to engage with businesses and begin a journey of improvement. It also provides Certex with the scope to expand into other sectors, knowing that we have been proven to be more than capable. For example, sub-security is a growing field, and maintaining our JAS-ANZ accreditation gives us the confidence to move in that direction.

Alicja (G.M.): “The JAS-ANZ accreditation sets us with fantastic groundwork for future growth. We can be assured that any new growth or clients will fit into our robust system with ease, because we’re operating at a level that is far beyond the size of our client base at the moment.”

“Often, JAS-ANZ auditors have commented that Certex does in fact have a highly robust, highly advanced management system for a business of our size and for the number of clients that we’re dealing with. We hold ourselves to a very high standard, and the JAS-ANZ accreditation and regular JAS-ANZ audits are a chance to reflect, reset, and continue growing our business and our management system.”

Dianne (M.D.): “No wonder our clients feel like they receive really good treatment, because they do. We’ll be growing, but we’ll be maintaining that high level of service.
