Hunter Defence is currently accepting registrations of interest for the ‘Defence Ready’ Seminar Series. The series aims to prepare and educate interested SMEs on how to meet defence requirements and provide an opportunity to build relevant business relationships with contractors, fellow suppliers and industry experts.

The defence sector is a sector unlike any other and SMEs would be forgiven for feeling out of their depth without the proper preparation. The language, security barriers, expectations, and ways of doing business all differ from other industries and can pose significant challenges for businesses seeking to become ‘Defence Ready’. Given that knowledge and familiarity with the industry may vary, ‘Defence Ready’ is accordingly grouped into three levels to best assist participants:

  • Explorer (little or no knowledge of the defence industry)

  • Exponent (those entering defence market)

  • Expert (those already active in defence and seeking specific skills)

Some of the topics that will be explored include tender writing, cyber regulation, export controls, and ISO Standards. As specialist training providers Goal Group will lend their expertise and experience to deliver the seminar series and Certex’s M.D., Dianne Gibert, will also draw upon her expertise in co-presenting a course within the seminar series.

Dianne will be co-presenting the Exponent level course ‘Defence Industry Collaboration: Power of Many’. This will explore best practice for collaborative business relationship management (ISO 44001), collaboration specific to defence contracts, selecting collaborative partners, and the risks and benefits of collaboration. The mode of delivery will be virtual and takes the form of 4 weekly virtual workshops and one podcast over the course of 4 weeks.
